The Steens Mountains are a beautiful range in Southeast Oregon. I love them because they are very remote. There is a plethora of wildlife, early historic Oregon culture abounds, and they are nestled between two unique landscapes. To the west, one can experience lakes, and to the east the Alvord Desert. The Steens are accessible by car, which as you know, is important for me.
*In full disclosure, some of these images overlap with the Alvord Desert images, my next installment. In my record keeping, the files overlap.
